Dongyang Woodcarving Town in Dongyang county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, will welcome its 7th craft fair from Sept 30 to Oct 4.

It will offer a five-day immersive experience that blends intangible cultural heritage, handmade creativity, and autumn aesthetics during the National Day holiday.

Since its inception in 2023, the craft fair has evolved from a traditional fair into a platform for intangible cultural heritage preservation, a hub for artisans, and a spiritual retreat for urban dwellers.

This year, over 130 vendors will bring goods from more than 10 cities in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and other provinces. There will be traditional crafts on offer like wood carving, bamboo weaving, and Longquan celadon, as well as innovative creations like tie-dyed products made by college students.

The food section will feature heritage delicacies, regional specialties, and exotic flavors, accompanied by fresh juices, coffee, and fruit wine.

Three exhibition halls will present high-quality displays: The woodcarving town's hall will show masterpieces of woodcarving and woodcarving furnishings; the Yipintang Museum will feature ancient brick carvings, stone carvings and ceramics; while the Xue Dao Art Museum — to open on Sept 30 — will present works by Dongyang painter Xue Dao and other renowned modern and contemporary artists.

The event will also include performances, blending dynamic dances, traditional music and bands. Additionally, visitors can get gifts by participating in a stamp collection game or directly purchase cultural and creative products, including umbrellas, mirrors, bottles and fans that integrate the theme of the fair with cultural elements of the town.
