Exciting wheelchair tennis matches unfold in Huzhou
The 2025 NEC Wheelchair Tennis Singles Masters and UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Doubles Masters started on Nov 10 at the Huzhou International Clay Court Tennis Center in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
This marks the first time the International Tennis Federation's premier wheelchair tennis events are being held in China. The tournament features 34 athletes from 15 countries and regions competing over the course of seven days.
At the Huzhou International Clay Court Tennis Center, thrilling wheelchair tennis matches are in full swing. Players, with exceptional upper body strength, maneuver their wheelchairs with agility and strike the ball with precision, embodying the indomitable spirit of sportsmanship.

Japanese player Tokito Oda expressed his enjoyment of competing in China. Meanwhile, Chinese athlete Li Xiaohui made his debut at the event, showcasing agility on the clay court. Li's powerful strokes led him to a victory against a Dutch opponent, marking his first win.
Post-match, Li said that he hoped his performance would inspire more individuals with disabilities to experience the allure of sports.
The NEC Wheelchair Tennis Singles Masters and UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Doubles Masters are the season finales of the 2025 ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour, featuring top players in both singles and doubles.
Jordi Tamayo, chairman of the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, praised Huzhou's excellent facilities and vibrant tennis atmosphere, acknowledging the impressive progress the city has made in promoting wheelchair tennis.
